Highlands and Islands
Ever since I was a teenager hitchhiking around the country, before ever I went to Cornwall as a student, my natural inclination was to head north.
I discovered the Hebrides with my partner when we spent a month cycling the outer Hebrides, Barra to Lewis. It was a trip during which our tent was totaled in some fierce gales. Luckily someone lent us a tent and we were able to continue our odyssey. We have returned many times to various inner and outer Hebrides with our children. The machair paintings result from a camping trip to North Uist I did with my middle daughter.
